Founder and medical director

Dr. med. dent. Susan Oswald-Schütz founded Zahnklinik Küsnacht. She runs the clinic as CEO and is its medical director. She covers the full spectrum of dentistry, with a focus on implantology and laser dentistry. As a laser expert, she stands for modern laser dentistry and personal, honest care.

Laser expert and laser safety officer

Dr Oswald-Schütz holds diplomas as a laser expert and as a laser safety officer. She has worked with the laser for 30 years. Her areas of focus are laser surgery and minimally invasive treatment. Minimally invasive means removing as little healthy tooth structure and tissue as possible. Surgical procedures with the laser cause hardly any bleeding. Three state examinations and the Brånemark Master Diploma

Dr Oswald-Schütz has passed three state examinations. Her career has taken her to the University of Zurich and the University of Basel. In New Orleans, she worked at Louisiana State University. She also holds the Brånemark Master Diploma in implantology.

Swiss federal diploma and memberships

Dr Oswald-Schütz is a dentist with a Swiss federal diploma. Dentists receive this diploma when they pass the federal examination at the end of their dental studies. She is a member of the SSO, SGI, CI and DGZI. The SSO is the Swiss Dental Association, the professional organisation of dentists in Switzerland. SGI is a Swiss professional society for oral implantology (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Orale Implantologie). DGZI is a German professional society for dental implantology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Zahnärztliche Implantologie). The clinic also offers implants as a fixed replacement for missing teeth.

Assistant, management and prophylaxis

More than 20 years in management and prophylaxis

Carin Wirz has worked with Dr Oswald-Schütz for more than 20 years. She looks after practice management and prophylaxis. Dr Oswald-Schütz says of her: “Carin started with me as an apprentice. After more than 20 years, she is like a daughter to me.”

Prophylaxis with ultrasound and AirFlow

Prophylaxis at the clinic includes cleaning with ultrasound and AirFlow. Ultrasound loosens plaque and tartar, even below the gum line. AirFlow removes stains with a fine jet of powder and water. Regular preventive care helps to protect against tooth decay and gum disease. Another page explains in detail what the cost of dental hygiene depends on.

Markus Schütz is responsible for executive management at Zahnklinik Küsnacht. His field is practice management. He is a former CEO of Orcos Medical.

Surgery and his former practice

Dr. med. / med. dent. Arno König supports the team with a focus on outpatient cosmetic surgery, implantology, CEREC and longevity medicine. He previously worked in surgery at Klinik Bethanien in Zurich and ran his own practice for decades before selling it a few years ago. Since then, he has treated patients at Zahnklinik Küsnacht.

Longevity medicine and longevity diagnostics

Longevity medicine is preventive care that looks at the whole body. The aim is to detect the risk of degenerative diseases early, ideally before symptoms appear. Dr König guides you through it personally. A separate page describes the steps of the longevity assessment. Longevity medicine adds to the dental check-up but does not replace it.

Laser instead of the drill: the laser removes tooth decay, in most cases without anaesthesia.
Digital X-rays as part of the check-up: we only take X-rays when needed, with around 80 per cent less radiation than conventional methods.
A scan of your teeth instead of an impression: a small scanner captures the teeth in 3D and in photorealistic detail.
Ceramic CEREC crowns made in the clinic: the clinic makes crowns and veneers from ceramic on site, in two to three hours.
