Accessibility statement for the Zahnklinik Küsnacht website

This statement applies to the website of Zahnklinik Küsnacht AG at zkk-zh.ch. The self-assessment of 23 September 2026 covered the German-language pages. On 5 October 2026, all pages in both languages were checked again automatically. It covers the website only. Information on access to the clinic premises is on a separate page.

How far the website meets WCAG 2.2 AA

We measure the website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. They are international guidelines for accessible websites.

The website partially meets WCAG 2.2 AA. We know it does not meet success criterion 2.2.2 “Pause, Stop, Hide” at level A. The reason is the video on the home page. Not every page has been tested individually.

Features that make the website easier to use

Using the website with a keyboard

• Every page has a “Skip to content” link at the very top.
• You can reach links, buttons and form fields with the Tab key. A clear outline shows where the focus is.
• Menus open with the Enter key, and the Escape key closes them.

Zooming in and colour contrast

• You can zoom in on every page. Even at 320 pixels wide, the tests found no need to scroll sideways.
• The tests found no cases of too little contrast. They could not measure contrast on colour gradients, so it was worked out from the values in the code.

Animation and the reduce motion setting

• With “reduce motion” switched on (the name varies by device), text and images appear at once. There is no fade-in and there are no scroll effects.
• The shimmer in the logo and in the home page title returns briefly every few seconds, and not at all with “reduce motion”.
• The faint band of light at the top of the “Dentist Küsnacht” page moves by itself for five seconds only. With “reduce motion”, it stays still.
• The intro on your first visit to the home page lasts just under four seconds. Any key skips it.

Page structure, images and language

• Every page has exactly one main heading. The headings below it follow in order, without gaps.
• The header, navigation, main content and footer are marked up as separate regions.
• Images that carry content have a text description. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• The English pages declare English as their language. The German pages declare German as used in Switzerland (de-CH).

The appointment request form

• In the form on the appointment page, every field has a visible label.
• Error messages appear next to the field. When you submit the form, the focus jumps to the first error.

How we prepared this accessibility statement

This statement is based on a self-assessment dated 23 September 2026, without an external auditor. On 5 October 2026, we checked all pages in both languages again automatically: display on phone and desktop, keyboard use and contrast.

Automated tests in the Chromium browser checked selected German pages at widths from 320 to 1440 pixels. They covered keyboard use, contrast, image descriptions and sideways scrolling. The source code was also reviewed. The problems found have been fixed, apart from those listed above.

The website has not yet been tested with a screen reader.
