Removing tooth decay without the drilling noise
When we remove tooth decay, the laser replaces the drill. So you do not hear the typical drilling noise.

Gentle dental care on Lake Zurich. We remove tooth decay with a laser, not a drill, usually without an injection.

When we remove tooth decay, we use a laser instead of a drill. In many cases, you barely feel the treatment, and usually no injection is needed. We also use the laser on the gums and in surgical procedures. We check at your examination whether it is right for your treatment.
What we focus on
For many people, the drill is the reason they put off a dental appointment. That is why we work with a laser wherever we can.
When we remove tooth decay, the laser replaces the drill. So you do not hear the typical drilling noise.
Because the laser replaces the drill, in most cases we can do without an anaesthetic. That means no needle prick and no numbness in your mouth afterwards.
We also use the laser on the gums and for minor surgical procedures. It kills bacteria, there is hardly any bleeding, and the wound often heals faster.
The index
We offer gentle dental care, from check-ups to ceramic crowns, aligners and implants.
Our services fall into six areas. Where it makes sense, we work with the laser, digital X-rays and scans, and ceramics.
For an overview, see our complete range of treatments. Eleven treatment examples from the clinic show how we work in practice. For more background, read our articles on dental health.

Dr Susan Oswald-Schütz founded the clinic and is a laser expert. She also holds diplomas in laser assessment and laser safety (Lasersachverständige and Laserschutzbeauftragte) and has worked with the laser for 30 years. Carin Wirz has worked with her for more than 20 years, having started as her apprentice. Dr Arno König supports the team. He previously worked in surgery at Klinik Bethanien in Zurich and ran his own practice for decades before selling it a few years ago. Since then, he has treated patients at Zahnklinik Küsnacht.
Our digital X-rays use around 80 per cent less radiation than conventional methods. The digital scan records your teeth in three dimensions. The result is a digital impression without impression material.
With the CEREC system, we make ceramic crowns and veneers right here in the clinic. It takes two to three hours, and you usually do not need a second appointment.
Your wellbeing comes first for us. Our motto is honesty, respect and loyalty.
Parking is available, the clinic is wheelchair and rollator accessible, and there is a comfortable waiting room. The contact page explains how to get here by train or car.

Request your visit by phone or with our appointment form. On request, we also arrange appointments outside opening hours.
We take time for you and first talk about what brings you to us. Then, where possible, we treat you with the laser rather than the drill.
By the end of the appointment, you know what the next step is. We also talk openly with you about costs.
In a dental emergency, you can reach us on +41 44 915 17 77. The phone is not staffed at all times during our opening hours. Outside opening hours, our emergency phone +41 79 524 74 40 is for real emergencies only. For anything else, please send us an email or a WhatsApp message.
We have put together advice on what to do if you have acute toothache.
If you are afraid of the dentist, feel free to tell us when you call. We will listen without rushing you. Before your visit, you can read advice if you are anxious about the dentist and find out how laser treatment works.
For people who can no longer come to us themselves, there is information about dentist home visits. We first discuss by phone what a visit could look like. We do this with you, your relatives or the care staff.
People with dementia often need more time at the dentist and a familiar person with them. The page on dental treatment for people with dementia explains how relatives and carers can prepare for an appointment.
Zahnklinik Küsnacht AG (Zk-K) is a dental clinic at Goldbacherstrasse 3a, right by Küsnacht Goldbach station.

The medical director is Dr. med. dent. Susan Oswald-Schütz. She founded the clinic, is its CEO and holds the Swiss federal diploma in dentistry. She covers the full spectrum of dentistry, with a focus on implantology and laser dentistry. Markus Schütz, former CEO of Orcos Medical, is responsible for executive management.
In Switzerland, the compulsory basic health insurance (Grundversicherung) usually does not cover dental treatment. Fees follow the Swiss dental tariff. Each service has a set number of tax points (Taxpunkte), and the tax point value (Taxpunktwert) converts them into Swiss francs. We bill transparently under the Dentotar tariff, with our tax point value of CHF 1.13, and give you open advice on costs.
